Re-Write (Continued)
|
It has now been almost 5 months since I started re-writing Elcire, and we are getting very close to a fully playable version.
It is getting to the point where I will list things that need to be done, rather than things that have been completed.
So, here is the official to-do list for now:
- Update objects in database to work with the new object parameter system
- NPC dialog needs to be re-programmed.
- Continue work on reducing appearance of lag
- Monster Movement
- Bank
- Trade
- Chat / Private Chat
- Sidebar interface
- Damage Indicators
- Set up images in sprite system
After these things are complete (and other small things that I probably forgot), I will be re-opening the ability to register.

Re-Write
|
Elcire is undergoing a complete rewrite, and registration has been closed until the game is playable again.
The reason for this is the code desperately needs to be simplified. The only realistic way of doing this is to rewrite it in a more logical manner.
Please check back in the coming weeks for new screenshots.

New GUI Complete!!
|
Im happy to say that the new GUI (Graphical User Interface) has been completed!
Having said this, there are a couple more things which still need to be added, as extra from the old GUI.
I am doing away with the old friends list system, and adding a completely new one!
The new bank and trade screens will allow you to see the items being traded.
A new shop interface that you can use instead of talking to the NPC shop owners.
I hope everyone enjoys the new GUI!

|
The server was down for most of the day for reasons unbeknown to me. I made a few calls and its up again... obviously.

Paths
|
Hello All,
This is the first update in almost a year, (not really, we lost allot of our update notices) so I will be hopefully implementing a completely new and exciting 'Paths' system.
The Paths system will allow you to take on the role of hopefully many different roles.
These roles will include things such as Demon Fighting, Miner, etc.
The idea of a Path is you can only be doing one Path at a time, and you can only start a new Path when you have finished the Path that you are currently on.
There will also be a in-game price for starting new Paths, which will increase with the number of Paths you have completed.

Forums
|
Over night I have created Elcire forums. Since I only just completed them, they are not looking up to scratch, and the only functions are posting topics and replying to other topics. The functions of the forums will increase with time.
The forums can be found in the navigation bar on the left. Note you do not need to be logged in to read the forums, but you do need to be logged in to post.

On a different note, we may be experiencing some down time tomorrow as we are moving out of my house and into an actual server. We also now have a domain name, www.xegup.com. Please note that although the website will be running from the new server tomorrow, you will still be able to access this website. Also the Elcire server will be moved to the new server later in the week, so you will still be connecting to my home computer when you log onto the game until then.

New Updates
|
We apologize for the server being down for the last two days. It will be up again tomorrow.
We also have a couple updates planned to be completed soon.
- Overlapping tiles so tile edges are not as rough.
- Health bars have been added for monsters and other players.
- New Quest for Guisallo Island.
You will see these updates start to be completed in the next two weeks.

Client Up
|
The client is back up using the old tile system.
|

Client Down
|
The game client will be down until sometime
tomorrow. This is caused by our new tile loading
system, making tile loading completely invisible.

Lag Update
|
I have almost finished fixing the lag associated with
loading tiles. Until then, I have reverted back to the
old client, so it will still be possible to play.

|
Please note that the client may not load while we
are trying to fix a lag problem while loading tiles.

Friends List
|
Feature: Friends List
A new friends list has been added, as well as a more
easier to use side bar.
The friends list will let you see if your friends are online,
and also private message them.

Updates
|
GUI:
New health bars and stats bars have been added so
you can quickly see how much more XP you need until the next level, etc.
Also we are creating a new friends list so you can see
who's online and talk to them. This should be
completed soon.

Down Time
|
I appologize for the downtime that we have been facing
lately. Unfortunately it will be another 3 weeks before
we will have Elcire up and running again. Because of
this, I will have a massive update ready for when we
come back online.

New Island brings new GM
|
Overnight a sailor named Buck has discovered a new
island which he calls 'Fogba'. He boasts about its
good training grounds. Because of these good
training grounds, Buck has decided that he is only
going to let premium players sail on his boat
with him to Fogba... but even that comes at a price.
Also I would like to introduce our new GM, SirOzone.

Server Crash
|
Unfortunately we have suffered a harddrive failure and
have lost all old updates.
Players will have also lost any old or new mail that was
in their mailboxes.
The good news is that I managed to get a backup
of all players accounts.
